Profile of AHCCD

The Arab-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce & Development is a non-profit organization established by Greek Law No. 990 on December 1st, 1979, followed by Presidential Decree No. 421 of April 1981, determining its Statute. Its Head Office is located in Athens and has a presence through representation throughout Greece. The Chamber began its activities in March 1982 and is governed by a Board of Directors composed of 40 board members equally balanced between Greeks and Arabs. The Chairman is always elected by the Greek side and the Secretary General is elected by the Arab side.
 
The Chamber works in close co-operation with the LEAGUE OF ARAB STATES, in a shared common interest, especially since the LEAGUE includes all the Arab Countries namely:  
 
Democratic Republic of Algeria, Kingdom of Bahrain, Republic of Djibouti, Arab Republic of Egypt, Republic of Iraq, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, State of Kuwait, State of Qatar, Republic of Lebanon, Socialist People’s Libyan Arab Great Jamahirya, Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Kingdom of Morocco, Sultanate of Oman, State of Palestine, Republic of Sudan, Syrian Arab Republic, Republic of Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Republic of Yemen, Federal & Islamic Republic of Comoros & the Republic of Somalia.
 
The Chamber also collaborates and maintains close relations with: the Greek Government, Union of Arab Chambers of Commerce & Industry & Agriculture, Council of Arab Ambassadors, Diplomatic Missions, Arab Federations of Chambers of Commerce, Euro-Arab Joint Chambers of Commerce, Arab-Foreign Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Local and Regional Chambers, Trade Associations and Professional Organizations, in Greece and the Arab World.
 
Objectives
The scope of the Chamber is to promote the economic relations especially in the fields of: Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, Technology, Culture, Tourism and Joint Investment Greece and the Arab World through:
 
1. Coordination and development of the commercial & industrial relations
 
 
 
    between Greece and the Arab countries, by making known on a reciprocal basis  
    their economic possibilities.
2. Encouragement of bilateral agreements and joint investments.
3. Support the opportunities offered for industrial and technical co-operation between
    Greece and the Arab countries, in close collaboration with the private and the public
